Every day on my way to work I walk by this — a compass showing the distances to other parts of the world from St. John’s (because, I guess, we like to be reminded of how far away everything is, or something). It’s called Mile 0 (I thought we were in Canada?) and the Mile One center is, well, I guess a mile down the road (Kilometer 0? Kilometer One?).
For the record, Halifax is roughly 884 kilometers closer to the South Pole than St. John’s. That’s right, enjoy your penquins suckers.
You should also take a look at Mr Lee. From what Jena told me, this guy was wondering where his cat went for two or three days at a time. To find out, he made a camera with a timer on it, gave the cat a new collar, and these pictures are the result. I’m sure mom wishes she had this for Jay and I when we were growing up.
In other news, stuff has finally arrived. And not just any stuff, my stuff! Here’s the state of things after the movers left:
I sat in my couch as soon as it was unwrapped. The movers on this end (who were in posession of my items for less than 24 hours, compared to the two to three weeks that Halifax kept a hold of it) were great, friendly, and did a great job of lugging items big and small into my place.
Clearly, the floor looks better boxed instead of carpeted.
I should also note that, having received my stuff on thursday, and working friday, I am also going away to a cabin with some guys from work this weekend. How ironic is that.
