This isn’t really what I meant when I said I’d take a picture of my backyard view once everything was in bloom, it really wasn’t. And yes, that is indeed fire you see, not some new sort of Newfoundland bloom.
This was about six in the morning today after not having fallen asleep until three or so. At first all I heard was the car horn going off and thought nothing of it, followed by a few small popping sounds. To me, it seemed a little early in the morning for fireworks. True that Samuel Colt, inventor of firearms was born today, and France also declared war on Prussia in 1870 today, but still seemed a bit early to be celebrating. I also thought it might have been the mine across the way setting off some charges, which set off the car alarm. When I heard a larger explosion, I decided to have a look.
I must say though, that when I called 911 I was rather disappointed when William Shatner didn’t take my call personally, even for a fellow Canadian. The TV lied to me all those years.
So I’m a little cranky today (or, as they say in Newfoundland, crooked).
Last night, as part of my effort to reduce my ecological footprint in the world, I started using the little planter kit I got a couple of days ago.
The first step called for a layer of Coco Puffs to be placed on the bottom of the tin. I’m really not sure why, but who am I to argue with gardening. My thumb is not a healthy shade of green yet. They even supplied the Coco Puffs in a neat little plastic bag, but I didn’t see any milk with the kit. I assume this is to deter us from eating them.
This is it, all finished with moist soil, and some tiny seeds, and a layer of dry soil on top. If it works, I’m going to see about getting another one for extra basil goodness. Eventually I’d like to make some pesto with it, but I doubt that even two of these will give me enough for a good batch.
So to help it out as much as I could, I added a role model for all the plants to aspire to. I’m also going to play metallica and other assorted heavy metal, as per Mythbusters discoveries.
The seed watch begins!

I remember rescue 911…
I still remember one episode, that was unintentionally hilarious…
some folks were about to go over niagara falls in their boat…and they went to a commercial break before finishing showing the outcome, and there was some bottled water company delivery ad that the first thing the ad said was ‘water, beautiful water’
That is pretty great. Don’t remember that at all (and I think I was a pretty faithful watch).
I had to look it up:)
It was THIS episode

did you watch unsolved mysteries too? I used to watch them both with my Mom, but after a period of time I got creeped out by Unsolved Mysteries because I saw one episode that freaked me out, this one..

some asshole who torched a ladies’ dog kennel. Being that I was a little kid and so attached to animals that particular episode made me cry and gave me nightmares lol
I did watch Unsolved Mysteries. Those two shows almost went hand-in-hand with each other.
It was almost strange to hear Robert Stack do one of the voices on the old, animated, Transformers movie.
Sadly, the movie isn’t quite as good as I remembered it being.
