By a strange, and I do mean strange, stroke of luck, my bed arrived early. Four days early even. That almost makes up for the three or so weeks it took to get my items from Halifax. Almost.

However, something told me that some assembly might be required. Though with the right angle, this might even be comfortable. At least, more so than:
  a. the air mattress that deflated after several hours of use, or
  b. the air mattress that wasn’t nearly as comfortable and smelled funny

That said, I am very appreciative of David and Mom for lending me two of their air mattresses and it was much better than sleeping on the bare floor, I assure you.

Like a giddy kid at Christmas, I quickly got all the junk out of the boxes and started playing with the best part, the boxes! Just look at them, all long and boxy — just like a real box is at Christmas.

I kid, but I did lay out the pieces of wood.

Even so, more assembly would be required.

Sadly, only after I had everything in front of me and I was flipping through the instruction books did I remember hearing all of the horror stories of IKEA instructions. What have I done to myself? Three hours of back-breaking work, that’s what.

But I did manage to do it without turning my blood black and having it drip out of my finger. So I guess that’s something. All in all, I have a bed again, and it’s very exciting. Because my back was acting up, I didn’t truly get to enjoy it until about an hour before my alarm went off. And then my alarm went off. I’m sure you understand.

So, tonight, I’m eating as much cheese, hamburger and beer as I can. Short of attacking a turkey farm with a knife and Mom’s stuffing, it’s the best thing I can think of to knock me out tonight.

In other, sad news, there may not be many more pictures coming. Getting these three was a bit of a struggle as my poor little rebel is dying. Even changing the ISO or bringing up the menu was a bit of a struggle. Taking the lens off and putting it back on seemed to reset it, but I’m a little wary of it now. Sad day.

Blogger has changed their formatting, it’s annoying me.

  1. Now you will be able to show off your new bed for the house warming. Maybe someone will help you try it out.
