I enjoy my bed.
It took a few nights to get a good sleep in, but when I did (eventually crashing for eight or so hours the Saturday after I got it), it was golden. Golden I tell you. Since then, every morning is harder to get out of bed.
On Thursday of last week, I finally had my Housewarming with a good little crew from work and Jane, from the Grapevine, who dropped by for a few minutes. As part of the preparation for said event, I picked up the largest bag of M&M’s I could find. 1.3kg in fact.
The magazine is in full swing again, but coming along better than I usually feel about it. Not sure if Alexa (who, for those that don’t know, is a good friend and editor of the magazine) should know that, but, well, it’s online now. This is due, in part, to the extended time frame, but also because Jena (at Newfound) has been pushing me to create better design work. While this can be frustrating, I’m thankful for her pushing and it’s starting to show more and more in the work I create. Thanks Jena.
Now (and again, Alexa may not want to read this), but I’m secretly very thankful for the extended timeframe. For starters, tonight I’m going to the Ship (artsy bar) to see Mark Bragg again, who is quite entertaining. Tomorrow night is Hey Rosetta!, courtesy of Michael (at Newfound) who gave me two tickets when he got his. He didn’t even take my lunch money in compensation either. Truly a bonus. And if that wasn’t enough, on Sunday I’m going to be seeing Cirque du Soleil with Noleen and following that up with Jane’s “Goodbye Grapevine” party as she leaves to tend another bar in town. Sadly, I’ll probably do nothing for the next four weekends. Which, all things considered, is probably a good thing.
It’s also more than a week later and I’m still eating the M&M’s.
