So I really didn’t mean to go this long without an update. It’s actually gotten to the point that Dad called me to make sure I was still alive (with help from Judy). Which is always a nice feeling. I think. And then it was still almost another week before I actually got around to posting. Go me.
I survived my trip to Halifax in one piece, as did my luggage. However, my health did not survive the trip and I was quite sick by the time I got back. Which, I assure you, made for a rather fun flight back. Compounding this, Air Canada was out to get me. On the way to Halifax I decided, for a change, to watch one of the movies on the screen on the back of the seat. Not having seen it yet, I picked Spiderman 3. Now, I should also mention that this is only an hour and a half flight without about an hour of actual movie-watching time over the roar of the engines. Sadly, the flight back was lacking in screens. I hear that the movie does end, eventually, with some sort of thing going on at the end.
It was nice to be in Halifax for a bit, spending time with family and getting to see the walking-machine that is Elliot. And for those that were in the know, my mother was completely surprised by my visit. Everything went off pretty much as I had hoped.
And on that news, I’ve booked my trip for Christmas already, taking advantage of a seat sale on with Air Canada and getting approval for vacation time from work. There’s still rumors that work may shut down for some of the days I’m taking off, which means I’ll get my vacation days back. I’m not too worried about it however. This also means that I’ll need some lists from people so I can start shopping and planning Christmas stuff. You’ll be hearing from me soon — yes, this means you (maybe).
Hopefully by then I’ll actually have my license, which will be a big change from previous years.
In other, other news, looks like I might be moving again (be quiet Gina). Thankfully nothing as drastic as the move to Newfoundland was or England could have been. A friend, Jane, is giving up her one-bedroom and my lease is also up soon, so we’re talking about getting a two-bedroom together in the same area (roughly).
Ironically enough, I’d just gotten rid of my boxes to a girl from work who’s also moving (who has also given them to her aunt).
Even more ironic, work is moving just around the corner from where I live and I’ll probably be moving farther away.
However, the potential to have laundry in the apartment is quite enticing.
Speaking of which, I should go do my laundry. With any luck I’ll have another post soon with Halloween stuff (no new costume this year though, just recycled an old one because no one here has seen it and I’m lazy.
