oops revisited

And there’s more!

The driving lessons are actually going pretty well. While at first I was let down at how much I didn’t know, I seem to be picking it up without too many problems. On the second-last trip out I made a left-hand turn. Which, in itself, isn’t that eventful. But there was a car coming and, rather than waiting like I usually do, I made the turn because I was sure I had enough time. And I was relieved when the honking behind me was for the crazy cab driver who also made the turn.

And then, on the last trip out we were doing highway lessons, during rush hour, during construction. In the rain. So, some guy almost crashed into us from behind because they had trouble stopping. It was pretty intense. I don’t recommend it.

Otherwise, I seem to be doing quite well.

On the weekend B.J. hosted a potluck before running off to Montreal permanently. For some crazy reason, I decided to try a new recipe from my focaccia book that are, for lack of a better term, pizza rolls. The directions were a little sparse in some key areas. Also, my oven runs a bit hot. And yeast hates me. So, half hour after I said I’d be there, I was quickly cutting off the well-done bottoms of the rolls, packing them up and running out the door, rum and food in hand. Despite being in Newfoundland, I think I was the only one drinking. At least I didn’t try to make up for their lack of drinking with even more drinking. Well, not much.
Even made some new friends.

For those wondering, imagine a cinnamon roll with tomato sauce and cheese instead of cinnamon. Quite tasty.

  1. Your posts don’t have the same quality they did a few months ago. Whats up? These last two seem to be “just the facts mam, nothing but the facts”. I miss the absurd and the whimsy- bring it back!

  2. Yet another anonymous commenter.

And don’t worry, I got a good one planned. Just need to build my hat.
