Snow Watch – Day Three

December 3rd, 2007

As some of you may have heard, St. John’s got hit with the snow storm that hit Nova Scotia earlier. Sunday was a bit of a mess here and we actually lost power for a couple of hours. It’s really funny to see how well you don’t know your apartment, stumbling around in the dark with only your cell phone as a source of light. I did eventually find my candles, but apparently don’t actually own a flashlight.
I do keep meaning on getting one of those flashlights you shake to charge. Someday.

But snow? Lies! There’s barely an inch on the ground, most of which was gone by my lunch walk home. I was promised heaps upon of heaps of snow. Snow that would level the city in one fell swoop, blotting out the sun and reverting everyone to caveman days. But no. I get an inch.

So the Snow Watch continues.

Oh, I should also mention that, despite the lack of snow, the snow plows were still out in full force. They have a budget to use up before the actual snow fall starts. And indeed, they weren’t driving feather dusters.

In other, other news, I’m joining a committee in January.
