So, as some of you may have heard, I’ve finally made it to the West coast of Newfoundland. It’s very foggy here, so it looks pretty much the same as the East coast, just with a few more hills. And that those hills have bigger hills on them too.
The flight out was pretty fun.
I was thinking, maybe, that there was a bigger plane hidden in the fog behind this one. Or maybe that the rest of this plane was hidden in the fog. But no, this is it.
It was my first time in a very small propellor plane. Apparently PAL (Provincial Airlines) will take off and land in just about anything, while flying one of these. And that’s why we were leaving on schedule, in the fog.
The only window seat left was at the very back of the plane and, except for one row of five seats behind me, this is the extent of the plane. Tiny!
Here’s a picture from our approach into Deer Lake. We were flying between the clouds and fog so it was a pretty grey trip:
There really wasn’t much to see and Central Newfoundland is still a bit of a mystery to me.
