Why do I keep finding this stuff, take pictures of it, and get odd looks?

Well, the latter is actually pretty self-explanatory really, isn’t it. I do get strange looks from people fairly often it seems.

I also realize that I need a lens that does more than Æ’4.0 (for those that don’t know, it’s an aperture setting and the lower the number, say Æ’2 or Æ’1.8 would really blur the background, thus making the chair more of a center of focus).
