There have been a few varying reports coming in from the front about snow sightings here in St. John’s. Most notably here.
Understandable, this has me as excited as a little puppy over nothing to the point of ending up on the floor in a tangle heap of legs and paws. Just like Heidi, a dog [...]

snow?
November 5th, 2008Snow Watch – Day Something or Other +6
January 14th, 2008So, a couple of days ago, something terrible happened. Dreadful really.
Poor Herman got a lobotomy.
He is, quite clearly, missing a large part of himself. Which is too bad. He’ll never make it to George Street now.
The first person to mention snowbotomy has no soul. Which would now be me and explains a lot.

Snow Watch – Day Something or Other
January 8th, 2008Snow!
I’ve come to realize, as my driving instructor advised me, that St. John’s doesn’t really get all that much more snow, it’s just poorly managed. Very poorly. This is snow from Christmas that they still haven’t cleaned up. Extra insulation for me I guess.

Snow Watch – Day Fourteen

I’ll be in [...]
Snow Watch – Day Four
December 4th, 2007We got a bit of a storm today, but still not much accumulation.
I’m disappointed, the people at work think I need to get a life.

Snow Watch – Day Three
December 3rd, 2007As some of you may have heard, St. John’s got hit with the snow storm that hit Nova Scotia earlier. Sunday was a bit of a mess here and we actually lost power for a couple of hours. It’s really funny to see how well you don’t know your apartment, stumbling around in the dark [...]

December 1st, 2007So I’m in Newfoundland, and it’s December. This can only mean one thing: snow.
Now I know it’s not officially winter yet, but one does expect snow in December. And everyone here has warned me about the amount of snow St. John’s receives. This also goes hand in hand with the apparent lack of management of [...]
